Changes Changes Changes!

Hello guys! This is Fonda, Frank’s daughter, I’m the designer/webmaster making all the changes to your site :) There are a few changes on the site – I am just going to explain what they are so everyone is on the same page.

How to make a account

You will now have to make a account to comment on post like this or to use the forum. This is to help reduce spam and allow people to be identified. To make an account, you will need to click the Register button in the sidebar to the right (highlighted in red in photo to the right). This will take you to the registration page where you can make a username, password, add your info, and have the option of writing a little bit about yourself. After this you will receive a email for confirmation and then you can log in. This will allow you to make comments and use the forum. The next time you come to the site, you can login in from the sidebar, if you have forgotten your password check your email or click the ‘Lost Your Password’ button to have an automated email send you a new one.

How to edit your information

Once you have set up an account you can add information about yourself by clicking the profile button in the sidebar. You can add your website, facebook or instant messenger info. Know that anyone else who has an account on the site can view this information. You may set up a signature to be added to your forum post and add a photo to identify yourself. If you have any issues with adding a photo through the site, the consider using a Gravatar – this website is Gravatar capable, click here to learn more about Gravatar. In addition to this you can also change your password to a new password in the profile section.

How the Forum Works

The Forum is a great way to communicate and is rather simple to use. Pick a category for the topic you want to talk about. So lets say for example you saw a awesome 23 window (my favorite!) in a field today! Then you would click into ‘I Spy’ and click the ‘Add Topic’ button. The rest is like an email or writing in MS Word. Once posted, you can ‘subscribe’ to the topic (meaning you will be notified if there are any replies) or you can ‘watch’ the topic (meaning that next time you sign into the forum you will be told there have been replies). You can also ‘subscribe’ and ‘watch’ all the other post by clicking the button at the top of that specific post’s page. If you would like to have all post and topics sent to you, you can click the ‘All RSS’ button on the bottom on the main forum page. To view another members information click the small icon next to there photo that looks like a person (photo to right).

What is RSS?

RSS is a feed which you can add to your Google Reader or other RSS feed reader. This will send your ‘Reader’ a message when a new post is made to the site or forum depending on which RSS you are subscribed to. You can subscribe to both. If you are not familiar with RSS, but want to learn more check out this article here. Click here to add Site RSS or here for Forum RSS.

We had a great meet this month!

We had a great turnout this meet! Mark is working on a run/camping trip for sometime around April. He is trying to get in touch with some or the other VW groups in Colorado to see if we can all get together for the event.

Rusty “Go Rusty” has been working on hats and shirts for the group. The following is a list of prices if you are interested.
“Bowling shirt prices:
Small-X-large = 23.95
2 XL = 25.95
3 XL = 27.95
4 XL = 29.95
5 XL = 31.95
6 XL = 33.95

Hat W/ full logo = 15.00
Hat w/ letter logo = 12.00″

Website with the shirt that the logo will go on:

http://www.bowlingshirt.com/retrob/blank/?productid=2627

There will be a large logo on the back and a small logo on the front with your name if you want.

Hats are black with logo on the front.

Mark also has business cards that he brings to the meets with our info to put on VW windshields or to hand out to let people know about the group.

We still need to get an “in” on screen printed t-shirts and a small logo to put on the windows of our V-dubs.

Peace,
Frank
